Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 4 : Showing concern over increasing death rate at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu, Chairman Dabgotra Charitable Trust, Som Nath Dabgotra criticized hospital management. According to press release, Dabgotra today filed a fresh RTI application seeking details of death audit conducted so far. "Number of death audits so far conducted in medicine department, Emergency and Wards in GMCH. When last medical audit was conducted Emergency and Medicine Wards. How many deaths in Medicine Department in Emergency and Wards have occurred", Dabgotra sought information under RTI act. Dabgotra said that the audit was done in both Ortho and Surgery Department but there was no audit in medicine department. "More deaths occur in Medicine Department than Surgery and Ortho department. So Audit should be done in Medicine Department as well", he said, adding that why audit was not done. "We have a feeling that there is a mutual understanding between both parties i.e. Concerned Doctors and Auditor to avoid accountability. If Audit is done regularly in Medicine Department then Senior Doctors will be also available in Emergency in 24 hours", he said. |
