DC orders inquiry in 'diet charges' at DH Rajouri | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Apr 16: Following some complaints from patients/attendants of Gynecology ward of District Hospital Rajouri alleging that the hospital administration has been charging Rs100 per head for diet from the poor patients, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri has initiated an inquiry and sought report within seven days. "The inquiry will be conducted by Musheer Mirza, KAS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rajouri Development Authority, sources said further adding, "some poor patients and their attendants had approached the Superintendent of Police recently and demanded detailed investigation in this matter." They alleged that the hospital authorities are charging Rs 100 per head from patients for the diets provided by the canteen set up of the hospital. In their written complaints patients /attendants have also alleged the diet being provided by the canteen set up include one egg, juice and three pieces of bread and sometimes the diet was also not provided to the poor patients. It was also alleged that the diet mostly is found unhealthy and the rest of the money was being misappropriated by the hospital authorities in nexus with canteen owner and the aggrieved demanded detailed investigation in this matter. Superintendent of police has brought the matter in the notice of AK Atri, DIG police Rajouri-Poonch range who vide his officer letter NoCC/Extract/2014/2022-3 dt 28/3/2014 recommended the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri to take appropriate action in this matter in the interest of general public. Hemant Kumar Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner vide his office letter No GB/61-65 dt 12/4/2014 has initiated an inquiry in this matter and has sought the report within 7 days. |
