Mir opens his basket, says Omar will be CM for next six years | ‘Guarantee You will not support BJP’ | | Saahil Suhail KULGAM, Apr 16: Even as the state Congress had so far remained silent over the possibility of any pre or post poll alliance with National Conference in the forth coming assembly elections, Senior Congress leader and Minister for Tourism Ghulam Ahmad Mir today said Omar Abdullah will continue to be Chief Minister for six and half years. "You National conference have to guarantee that you will continue to support the Congress led UPA in the center and not BJP. Our collation in the state had performed very well on all levels so the alliance will continue and Omar Abdullah will be the Chief Minister of the state for next six and half years." Mir said while addressing the joint election campaign rally in Panzeth village of Devsar Constituency in South Kashmir on Wednesday. Interestingly state Congress particularly the Soz led faction to which Mir is associated has so far ruled out any pre or post poll alliance with National conference in future. Several Congress leaders have even openly expressed resentment over the alliance with upcoming parliament elections. However, later after the conclusion of the rally when Mir was asked to substantiate his statement, he contradicted his own statement and said, "what I is said I didn't exactly mean that it was just charge up the atmosphere in the rally." |
