HC warns Health Deptt, PSC against 'slackness' 4/16/2014 11:29:44 PM Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 16: A Division Bench of Jammu and Kashmir High Court has warned Health and Medical Education Department as well as Public Service Commission against any further slackness in finalizing the process of regularization of higher posts in the department. Hearing a petition, Dr Mohammas Ashraf Bhat Vs state, the division bench of the court comprising Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir and Justice Hasnain Massodi observed that in compliance to order dated 28th March, Public Service Commission has filed a detailed status report, stating reasons for delay in finalizing the process of regularization of Deputy Medical Superintendents, confirmation of Consultants on the post of Senior Consultants etc. "The report suggests that there has been slackness on the part of respondent Health & Medical Education Department while referring the proposal of all ranks to PSC as deficiency has been found," the Division bench said. Deputy Secretary to Govt Health & Medical Education Department also filed a detailed report, showing as to what steps have been taken by the Department in ensuring finalization of the process so as to avoid ad-hocism. "On perusal of the same, it appears that there has been delay in referring the case with full details to PSC," the Division bench said and directed Health & Medical Education Department and Public Service Commission to ensure that all necessary steps are taken at their respective levels so as to ensure finalization of process at an earliest. "Any further slackness shall be at the peril of erring officer/official. Latest status regarding finalization of the process be filed by or before next date," the court said. The issue raised in the petition pertains to confirmation of Doctors/Consultants at all levels-deputy Director, Senior Consultants, CMOs, Superintendents of Hospitals, B-Grade Specialists, Director TB Demonstration Centre, Assistant Directors.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
