Watchman murdered, 4 suspects detained

Jammu, Apr 16: A watchman of a private construction company was found allegedly murdered at River Tawi, this early morning.
The deceased has been identified as Pritam Singh (58) son of Rattan Singh of Gole Gujral, police sources said.
"Acting on the information that a body was found on the banks of Tawi, Police sources said and added, "police rushed to the spot and took custody of body, which later was identified as Pritam Singh working as watchman of a construction company engaged in construction of artificial lake on River Tawi.
Police sources said that the body bore severe injury marks on head and a blood stained shovel was also recovered from the spot which was seized. After autopsy, the body was handed over to family members for last rites.
"Meanwhile taking cognizance, police have detained four suspects in this connection and is further investigating the case, police sources said.
Sources said that during preliminary investigation it came to fore that the watchman resist some people to dig out sand along the construction area of artificial lake.
