Seminar on ill-effects of corruption, drug addiction held at Pulwama | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Apr 16 : A seminar titled 'New Lexicon' an interaction programme on eradication of Corruption and Drug Addiction was organized in the Pulwama district. The event also marked the third such awareness programme of the district level. The seminar was attended by religious scholars, intellectuals, professionals, heads of religious institutions, journalists, students and responsible citizens of Pulwama district besides prominent members from other districts of the state. Speaking on the occasion Pervaiz Ahmad Dar an Educationist by profession said that corruption and drug addiction are a matter of concern for all the people of society. He said that such seminars are always welcome since the initiative is being taken for the welfare of the society in large and youth of the country particularly. Shahid Ahmad while narrating his findings said large number of youth from across the state had become victims of the drug addiction. He said this included many females as well. Advocate Reyaz Khawar said that the state of Jammu and Kashmir is in a dilemma which can be described as a rat race competition in which one is without knowing the consequences run over by others. He said the voice of the people have always been deprived by one way or other by different sects of the society which including rulers as well as people. |
