Samba Shootout: Both gunmen identified, arrested | | | Jammu, Apr 17: Police have identified and arrested both the gunmen who fled away after shooting at the tipper driver late last night in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. "After conducting raids on specific inputs, the shooters identified as Johny and Ripu, both residents of Bari Brahmana, district Samba have been arrested," a police official here today said. He said one country made pistol, Rs 50,000 cash and 400 intoxicant capsules were also recovered from the possession of the accused persons. "Both of them were being interrogated to ascertain their motive to shoot at the tipper driver," he added. A tipper driver identified as Mohammad Mehboob, resident of Paddar, district Kishtwar received a bullet injury in his leg and fell unconscious when the accused persons fired at him late last night at Patli Morh in Sarore area. The injured has been hospitalized at Jammu. Police said that a case under relevant sections has been registered and investigations started. |
