5-day Baisakhi Mela concludes | Radhika, Tanya mesmerize audience with melodious voice | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 17: Five-Day Baisakhi Mela organized jointly by Tourism Department and Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya Bhopal concluded here at Mubarak Mandi. Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu was the chief guest on the concluded day of five day Baisakhi Festival. Radhika Chopra and Tanya Gupta mesmerized the Jammuites with their melodious voices. The audience was spell bound by the great performances of these artists, who are the daughters of the soil. Scintillating performance by Radhika Chopra kept the audience spell bound. She sang Dogri, Punjabi songs and the famous song sung by her 'Chithi Lai Aye Janye Mera Dil Janyia' was applauded by the large gathering. She also sang many Dogri songs on the request of audience. Radhika Chopra is a renowned artist of Jammu who has performed outside India as well. Zulekha Fareed, local artists presented Dogri, Kashmiri and Punjabi song. Earlier, the dancers of Manipur, Assam and Nagaland also presented folk dances of their state. The Raas Leela by the Manipur artists in their colourful attire was another source of attraction tonight. Speaking on the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Jammu complemented the Tourism Department for organizing this grand five day Baisakhi Festival. Director Tourism Soujanya Sharma in his welcome address gave the brief about the Baisakhi Festival and main motive behind organizing these kinds of festivals. |
