Togadia's speech defies essence of India | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 21: The statement by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Pravin Togadia against Muslims is uncalled for and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leaders who have been seeking votes must understand the basic structure of the country. Togadia has the habit of putting foot in mouth and is loose cannon and Election Commission of India (ECI) and BJP leaders must apply some restrain on him so that minority community is not threatened each and every time. India is the country for all and people like Togadia and others can't dictate terms to minority community. If he is not put behind bars, it will be great threat, not for Muslims but for all minority communities. BJP, PM candidate Narendra Modi as well as its President, Rajnath Singh had offered an olive branch to Muslims and sought their votes but if such things happen on the pretext of gaining power, this is surely going to effect the BJP itself. Muslims are not second class citizens in the country where constitution provides equal opportunity to all irrespective of creed, colour, caste or religion and if anybody tries to vitiate the atmosphere and single out any particular community, he deserves to be in jail. The ECI must take strong notice of this act of Togadia and order Gujarat police to arrest him and put behind bars. It is not for the first time that Togadia has spoken against Muslims but his politics revolves around hate speeches and violence. Like Togadia, a BJP leader Giriraj Kishor spoke against people who are not voting for Modi in the ongoing elections and have told them to go Pakistan. Giriraj must understand the fact that India is for all and he shouldn't be in dreams that only BJP men can stay in this country. |
