Bovine smuggling bid foiled in Samba, one arrested | | | Early Times Report Samba, Apr 21: In its continuous drive against the illegal trafficking of bovine animals, Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid besides seizing a truck carrying 11 bovine animals with the arrested of accused person while another is injured. Police reports said that police team headed by Inspector Ravinder Singh, SHO P/S Samba under the supervision of Anil Magotra, SP Samba and Vijay Pal Singh, Dy SP HQ Samba seized a truck carrying 11 bovine animals and arrested accused person namely Sawar Ali alias Noora s/o Mohd Din r/o Ragura, Jammu. "Based on specific information, police team today morning intercepted a truck, police said, adding, "the said truck bearing Registration No. JK02AK-2469 was coming from Kathua was signaled to stop by the Naka Party at Samba Chowk but instead of stopping, the truck driver jumped the Naka checking." Police said, "Immediately, the next Joint Naka of District /Traffic Police already present at Mansar Morh was informed about the movement of said truck, however the speedy truck tried to take turn towards Mansar, it lost its balance and rolled over due to which the driver of the said truck got injured alongwith 05 bovine animals." Police said, "The injured driver Anwar Ali S/O Gullu Gujjar R/O Ragura Jammu was shifted to GMC Jammu and a Case FIR No. 64/2014 u/s 279/337/188/429 RPC, 2/3 Cruelty to Animal Act, 184 M V Act has been registered with P/S Samba and investigation is on. |
