LEH, Apr 21: The scrutiny of the nomination papers of all the candidates of various political parties as well as Independent candidates were done by the Returning Officer, Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Leh Simrandeep Singh in presence of the General Observer Naveen Mahajan at Conference Hall Leh today.
The confirmed candidates include Tsering Samphel (Indian National Congress), Thupstan Chhewang (Bharatiya Janta Party), Syed Mohd Kazim (Independent), Anayat Ali (Independent), Mohd Amin (Independent ), Ghulam Raza (Independent), Mohd Hassan (Independent ) and Mohd Abbas ( Independent ).
The nomination papers of Chhering Dorjey, covering candidate of Bharatiya Janta Party, was rejected on the ground that the first nomination paper filed by Thupstan Chhewang was accepted.
The last date for withdrawal of candidature is 23rd April, 2014 (Wednesday). Allotment of symbols will also be finalized on the same day. |
