JAMMU, Apr 21: Transporters under the banner of Oil Tanker Transporters' Welfare Committee (J&K), have warned to suspend the supplies to the valley and other parts of the state in coming few days. Today, while protesting outside the Jammu Divisional Office of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) here at Rail Head Complex, a large number of agitating transporters under the leadership of convener Ranjeet Singh and Sardar Harasis, Co-convener accused the IOC officers of indulged in corruption especially in the Jammu oil depot, they alleged that one Mohammad Sadiq Choudhary, Sr. Operation Manager at IOC depot Jammu has developed an illicit relations with certain blue eyed transport contractors and he is favouring them out of legal way. They also demanded strict action against the officer and others who shielded them and said that genuine Oil Tanker owners are ignored and are not equally treated. There are many cases where only selective tankers are given opportunity again and again, the fact may be verified from the roaster book. Demanding immediate suspension of Sadiq Choudhary, who has never been posted outside the state for more almost a decade. The agitating transporters who were there at IOC Office also expressed displeasure over the senior officers of the IOC who were not available in the office despite prior information about the meeting with them. |
