CM did not undermine Dogra pride: Rana | Scared NC clarifies | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 17: After facing total rout in the just concluded Parliamentary elections, NC seems to have lost its nerves. The Provincial President for Jammu, Devender Singh Rana had to address a press conference today to convince the press that the Chief Minitser did not use the word `Dogra' during his altercation with BJP MLAs yesterday. NC has always been arrogant but the recent rout has forced it to shun its arrogance. The credit for this must go to the people of Kashmir. The NC Patron, Dr Farooq Abdullah is known for issuing derogatory statements against them. "Kashmiri ko goli maro, they are thieves." This was issued during 2010 and the people took it lightly. Only a few columnists reacted. This year he committed the blunder yet again and called Kashmiris Maha Chors. This time the people took it seriously. Farooq issued a clarification but contrary to precedent it was not accepted and this statement became one of the factors for NC loss. The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah encroached upon the pride of Dogras yesterday. The statement evoked a severe reaction from the Dogras and today the NC issued a clarification. NC has never been in strong position in Jammu. The people of Jammu have preferred Congress and BJP. The press conference, therefore, was not required, believe political experts. Devender Rana was more interested in his own image than the interests of the party when he decided to address a press conference. He has stakes in Nagrota which has a sizeable population of Dogras and is likely to behave like Valley over the comment against Dogras. Rana vowed to expose BJP in the coming days. However, for the time being the BJP has stolen the show and feel empowered enough to conceive Mission 44+. |
