If there are efforts to fortify Hindustan as Hindu country, there is no harm in it: VHP | 'Hindutva' assertion for 'Hindustan' endorsed | | Mishu Gupta Jammu, July 26: Vishva Hindu Parishad, has endorsed Goa BJP Deputy Chief Minister Francis D' Souza's claim that India is a Hindu country and all people belonging to different religions are Hindus first. Talking to Early Times, on sidelines of a press conference held here, the VHP national secretary Surinder Jain said that he supports the claim of Hindutva India and if any party has claimed that belief, there is no harm in it. "The ideologue of India being Hindustan is an ages old origin which , endorsed by Goa DyCM claiming himself as Christian Hindu is self explanatory of the fact that all Indians are Hindu first and VHP supports this claim," said Surinder Jain . He, however, made a clever departure to a query over VHP chief Praveen Togadia's recent statement on Muslims having forgotten the Gujarat carnage, but still bearing Muzaffaranagar fresh in their minds adding that any misdeed against the Hindus is deliberately shied away by the political dispensation while a particular community's pain is glorified to seek its sympathy. Jain also ducked the question on international fame Sania Mirza' controversy which allegedly tags her as daughter-in-law of Pakistan saying that such issues have no base values to be commented upon. Jain, however, made a guarded admittance on the fact of Greater India movement picking up saying that the expanse of Hindustan in the annals of history extends to larger domains which had Hindutva only as its base religion. "If there are efforts to fortify Hindustan as Hindu country, VHP sees no harm in it," said the VHP general secretary. He was earlier addressing the media persons on Baltal pillage demanding enquiry into the ruckus and added that Supreme Court guidelines pending on different yatras of Jammu and Kashmir should be implemented at the earliest. "We warn the State Government to open up the closed doors of supreme court findings on the Amarnath as well as other yatras taking place in Jammu and Kashmir and any attempt to delay the process would invite VHP's ire that may turn into violent agitation," said Surinder Jain . He said its only 5-6 lakh merry making tourist that come to Jammu out of annual turnover of nearly 1.5 crore, all of which are religious places bound that add to the economy of the state. Jain also took up a straight dig at the NC M LC Bashir Ahmed Veeri from Anantnag who is trying to stop Kosernag Yatra that initiates from Mahore in Reasi to culminate at hillock in Shopian. "Any attempt to demean the Hindu yataras in the state would be nailed down emphatically and VHP would not let any stone unturned in such cases," he warned. |
