Two bovine smuggling bids foiled, four held

Jammu, July 26: Police claimed to have foiled two bovine smuggling bids by arresting four smugglers and rescuing 15 bovines in Thannamandi Rajouri. The arrested have been identified namely as Shabir Ahmed and Sageer Ahmed both resident of Behrote Thanamandi, Mohammad Shafeeq of Kote and Abdul Hamid of Rajdhani, Thanamandi.
According to police sources, on specific information police team led by SHO Mehraj Raina under the supervision of SDPO, DySP Surjeet Bhagat raised a special naka in Thanamandi and foiled two bovine smuggling bids in which bovines were being smuggle by foot. "Police managed to rescue 15 bovines from the clutches of smugglers, police sources said. They said that respective cases in this regard stand registered under FIRs 102/2014 and 104/2014 under section 188 of RPC and 3/PCA act at Thanamandi Police Station.
