Jammu, July 26: Continuing drive against black marketing, hoarding and profiteering during the ongoing holy month of Ramzan, an enforcement team of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department under the supervision of Director CAPD, Jammu G S Chib conducted a surprise inspection in across Jammu and realized fine up to the tune of Rs 35000/- from erring traders. "The drive was conducted in district Jammu, Ramban and Banihal respectively by the enforcement wings of the department," official spokesperson said. Director CAPD Jammu when contacted said that the drive was initiated keeping in view of ongoing holy month of Ramzan and auspicious Amarnath Ji Yatra. He said the team conducted the market checking of essential commodities in the areas of Rehari, BC Road, Gujjar Nagar, Ustad Mohalla, New Plot, Roop Nagar, Janipur and Sidhara. "During these inspections, the enforcement team realized fine to the tune of Rs 10400/- from the erring traders besides warning issued to the meat seller for overcharging, he said. Further adding, Director CAPD said, "In the similar drive in district Reasi, Ramban and Batote, the team inspected establishments and realized fine of Rs 24500/- from the violators. |
