PAPA picks hole in PM's sanitation statement | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 26: Expressing views on recent announcement of Prime Minister Narinder Modi to ensure sanitation across country, People's Action and Public Accountability (PAPA) has opined that without taking control of country from corrupt and defunct ministries of urban and rural development, it was not possible. "Despite allocation of unlimited funds during last five decades, these corrupt ministries even failed to touch the 50% target of sanitation work as per fresh media reports", Deep Singh the president of PAPA alleged. He further said that selfish and corrupt political scenario of the country was culprit of spreading the corruption at Panchayat level and creating the unwanted atmosphere at village level as on date causing many types of hurdles. "Nexus of rural development department officials and the sarpanches even busy in money minting tactics while considering the sanitation works at village level, he added. No body is worried about the conditions of a villager handicap, patient or the respectable female population in absence of required rural sanitation particularly the modern toilets", he further alleged. Singh further alleged that in J&K, RDD minister displayed a so-called "Grievances redressal cell" for the public but sorry to say despite lodging a complaint related to total absent sanitation problem of village Khairee of Tehsil Bishnah, district Jammu, no action was taken. "Rich values of all religions never allow for polluting water and surrounding but degradation of civil society and dummy monitoring of authorities have created a hell like situation all around", Deep Singh expressed. |
