Some forces trying to discourage Yatra: Dr Jain | VHP holds Govt responsible for July 18 Baltal violence | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 26: VHP national secretary and spokesman Dr Surinder Jain today held the State Government responsible for July 18 Baltal violence. Talking to reporters here today along with VHP State President Leela Karan Sharma its state general secretary Dr Sham Lal Gupta and senior leader Rajesh Gupta, Dr Jain said the July 18 episode was a beginning of communalising the situation by NC and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah during coming Assembly elections in the state. He said on the fateful day neither Governor who is also the chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, nor Chief Minister Omar Abdullah nor Chief executive officer of SASB were available in the State. This shows that they were not serious towards the holy Amarnath Yatra. He termed the July 18 episode as a conspiracy against the holy Amarnath Yatra to discourage it. Dr Jain said the unruly mob shouting pro Pak and anti India slogans torched the Langers and tents. They also attacked Yatris. He demanded that people responsible for the episode be identified and punished under law. He said that rumors were floated that a Ponywala was knived by a sewadar to instigate the locals for violence under a pre planned conspiracy. Dr Jain said Yatris are not going for violence but for pilgrimage. He also alleged that the Supreme Court guidelines on Amarnath Yatra are not being implemented by SASB and announced that VHP has asked its senior functionary Rajesh Gupta to visit holy cave to ascertain the same. "In case we come to know that Apex Court guidelines are being violated we will knock the doors of the Court," he added. Expressing his grave concern over border skirmishes and infiltration bids made from across the border, he said India should not hesitate in attacking Pakistan and teach it a lesson for its misadventures. The VHP leader also made a dig at separatists and some main stream politicians opposing Hindu Yatras to their ancient and historical religious places in valley saying it is the outcome of a perverted thinking. |
