Kishtwar, Aug 24 : The local Hizb-ul-Mujaheedin outfit today suffered a major blow after Army on specific inputs busted a hideout and recovered cache of arms and ammunition in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. "A joint team of Rashtriya Rifles and Police this morning carried out a search operation on specific inputs in village Darna of Bimalnag area of Kishtwar district and busted a militant hideout,"official spokesman here today said. He said the area has been a stronghold of HM Tanzeem for the past 20 years while the known surviving militant Mohammad Amin alias Jahangir also hails from this place. A hideout was busted and the recovery included two AK rifles, one 9mm Carbine Machine Gun, two Pistols, two Revolvers, 3254 rounds of assorted ammunition, six UBGL grenades, 73 hand grenades and five Radio Sets, which apparently belong to militant Jahangir of HM outfit. The area has been cordoned and searches intensified, he added. |
