Shah takes class of BJP leaders, not impressed with election preparations | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 24: During his first visit in Jammu as national president of BJP, Amit Shah took class of BJP leaders in the closed door marathon meeting which continued for more than four hours. Highly placed sources in the BJP said that during the meeting of senior party leaders who have been engaged in the preparations for the elections, Amit Shah inquired about the steps taken by the state unit to achieve the target of getting 44 plus seats. Amit Shah, insiders said, was not satisfied with the replies given by those who were present in the meeting. Shah, sources said, has made it clear to the party leaders that all of them have to be work with dedication and commitment. He asked the leaders, especially elected representatives to take care of grass root level workers because connection with workers was must to achieve the target. He also made it clear that those who were found involved in sycophancy would not be tolerated because hard-words not buttering would be given importance. Credible sources said that Amit Shah said that he was not aware of what happened in the BJP in the past but in the future he wants results. He especially asked newly elected Lok Sabha members that they have to share more responsibilities as compare to other leaders. Shah told party leaders that unlike previous Assembly elections, BJP this time is working to form its own government in Jammu and Kashmir so leaders should not take rests in the office. Credible sources further said that during the meeting, Amit Shah inquired about various steps which the party has taken to strengthen booth level workers. He also emphasised on the need of launching offensive on Congress, PDP and National Conference. He said that offense is the best defense. |
