Bari Brahmana assault case: Hardcore criminal nabbed from Delhi hotel

Samba, Aug 24 : Samba Police apprehended hardcore criminal Mohd Rafiq S/O Late Abdul Majeed R/O Trait Basti, Bari-Brahmna and his accomplice Avinash Kumar alias Munshi S/O Badri Nath R/O Himachal Pradesh at present Dhollian, Bari-Brahmana from a Delhi hotel today.Police were on the toes following strong resentment and band call by the locals under the leadership of one Karnail Singh, father of complainant Jatinder Singh demanding immediate arrest of accused Mohd Rafiq S/O Late Abdul Majeed R/O Trait Basti, Bari-Brahmna.The accused was absconding after his involvement in case FIR No. 97/2014 u/s 307/341/148/149 RPC was registered at Police Station Bari-Brahmna. He was among seven accused persons involved in the crime and out of which Vinod S/O Ram Pal, Vikrant alias Billa S/O Sewa Ram and Naseem S/O Abdul Majeed, all R/O Bari-Brahmna were arrested but the other four accused persons were absconding after the commission of crime. Different teams were constituted by Anil Magotra, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Samba and the teams were dispatched to Punjab, Himachal, Udhampur and Delhi. Accused was also kept under technical surveillance and his mobile locations were being monitored time to time but the accused being hardcore notorious criminal was aware about mobile surveillance and was frequently changing his mobile to avoid technical surveillance and Police was facing difficulty in tracing his location.
Finally, a Police team led by Shazaad Salaria, Dy. SP, SDPO Bari-Brahmana succeeded in apprehending the accused namely Mohd Rafiq and his accomplice Avinash Kumar from Flourisheen Hotel, Hauz Rani Market, South Delhi after raiding different locations in collaboration with Delhi Police. Insp. S.D. Singh, SHO P/S Bari-Brahmana also played a vital role in surveillance and apprehension of the accused persons.
