JAMMU, Aug 24: Soham Kamotra of Delhi Public School (DPS) and Meenal Gupta of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) Sunjwan claimed the under-13 boys and girls titles respectively in the district level inter-school (Rs 25,000 prize money) chess tournament, organised by Ace Chess Academy, here today. Second place in boys section went to Soham Gupta of Jodhamal Public School while Adheit Pangotra of Heritage remained third. Similarly, in girls section, Avni Gupta of Heritage secured second place and Sanjukta of Jodhamal finished third. The Rs 25,000 worth cash prizes were given away to the winners of various age groups by chief guest, Dr A S Bhatia. President of the All J&K Chess Association, Atul Gupta, coordinator of the event, Taranvir Singh Gujral and Director of the Ace Chess Academy, Vijay Choudhary were among others present.
