Alleged tampering of Medico Legal Cases | GMCH admin seeks registration of FIR against cop | | Avinash Azad
Jammu, Aug 30: The administration of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has sought registration of FIR against a cop, who was allegedly involved in tampering of "Medico Legal Cases" (MLC). The MLC register from the office of casuality medical officer (CMO) of GMCH emergency ward was also said to be missing. The GMCH administration did not rule out the alleged hand of the cop behind it. Sources told Early Times that the register for maintaining details of MLCs had been stolen from the office of CMO in emergency block of GMCH. "During initial inquiry made by hospital management, the needle of suspicion pointed towards the cop deputed at CMO's office", sources said, adding that in this regard an application seeking FIR over missing MLC register was written to SHO Bakshi Nagar on August 25, 2014 by the GMCH Medical Superintendent. Sources claimed that police constable, Amit Singh deputed at CMO's office in the GMCH emergency block had been checking the register frequently without any reason. "It was reportedly learnt that the cop had allegedly been tampering the register to blackmail people coming to the hospital in MLC cases", said an doctor, whishing not be named. When the MLC register got missing, the cop was the last person who visited CMO's office in his absence on August 24. "After knowing about the missing of register, CMO and other senior doctors on duty enquired about it from CRPF men deputed at the entrance of emergency block. They allegedly told them that police constable Amit Singh was last visitor in CMO's room in his absence", sources claimed. They said that earlier, the hospital authorities had asked SSP, Jammu for the cops' replacement. Meanwhile, the sources said that police authorities have replaced the cop. |
