Border management secy, BSF DG visit Pak firing hit Abdullian | Sufferers ask them to pressurise Pak not to violate ceasefire in future | | R S Pura , Aug 30 : Central Border Management secretary Sneh Lata and BSF DG D K Pathak today visited Abdullian in R S Pura, which is among the border villages that were worst affected by the Pak shelling and firing in the recent past, and took stock of the situation prevailing along the International Border (IB). Interacting with the sufferers, Sneh said she had come to meet them and know about their condition after the Pak firing. "The report, which I prepare, will be submitted to the Centre for the redressal of your grievances," she added. Village sarpanch Bachan Lal and other people, who met Sneh and Pathak, told them that there was an emergent need to make more bunkers in the border areas for their safety from the Pak shelling and firing. They also demanded five marlas of plots at safer places for each of the family that lives in the Pak firing range in R S Pura and other areas on the IB. They said let India exert pressure on Pakistan "so that it does not indulge in the border ceasefire violations in future". Later, they went to the forward Abdullian outpost of BSF and interacted with jawans, while taking stock of the prevailing situation along the IB.They were accompanied by BSF IG Rakesh Kumar, IG Rajiv Kumar and other senior officers of the border force. It may be mentioned here that unionHome Minister Rajnath Singh had on July 28 last reviewed disaster management and border management divisions and directed them to ensure better coordination with state governments and offer all possible support to them in case of crisis. |
