Kathua, Sept 5: During ongoing 15-days Induction Training Programme for the "National Youth Corps Volunteers, 2014-15", by Nehru Yuva Kendra at Shakti Palace, on tenth day of the programme youths received knowledge having relation to agriculture sector. Today on 10th day of the training National Youth Corps Volunteers after regular Computer Training, visited farm of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kathua and attended lectures of Agriculture Scientists on theme 'income generation and self-employment through Agro based Industry'. Dr Amrish Vaid educated and Volunteers about the Mushroom Cultivation, its nutrients values, commercial viability etc. Dr A P Singh trained about organic cultivation and vermi compost, its long-term advantages and commercial viability. Dr V K Sharma imparted training on Dairy Farming, Poultry Farming, Fishing etc and scope of income generation and self-employment. Dr Neerja Sharma educated about the value added of horticulture products, floriculture, off-season vegetables, cash crops etc. The trainees also practically saw the slides of the success stories and process of cultivation. They were also trained how to popularize the scope of self-employment in Agro-based industries for unemployed youth. |
