Vijaypur, Sept 5: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh today visited flood affected villages along International Border (IB) where a recently constructed bandh collapsed making way for flash flood into the fields in Ramgarh area. During his visit, former Minister visited Barota , Kamor,kamore camp, Nanga, Rangoor Kamor and interacted with the flood affected people and appealed the government to order a probe as to why the substandard material was used due to which recently constructed bandh could not sustain the water flow and entered into the residential areas. While interacting with affected people, former minister demanded compensation for affected farmers in villages likes Barota, Kamor,kamore camp, Nanga, Rangoor and other adjoining areas. He said that in view of heavy rains the water in the Basanter River has been increased and it has became insecure area for the people to live in. Referring to the difficulties being faced by the border people, he appealed Government to give reservation to the border people so that they can be benefited like people along Line of Actual Control (LAC). |
