Poonch, Sept 5: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) General Secretary and MLC, Yash Pal Sharma, , today visited flood affected areas of district Poonch. During his visit, he asked the State Government to intensify rescue operation in Poonch district instead of indulging into cosmetic exercise only. Yash Pal Sharma along with senior party Shah Mohammad Tantray visited flood affected areas of Poonch and interacted with the people. While visiting these areas, Sharma regretted that State Government has failed to rise on the occasion and pointed out that miseries of people have been increasing with every passing day but authorities have yet to take any concrete steps. Sharma said that Poonch district has cut off from the rest of the world but state government is indulged only into cosmetic exercise. Chief Minister and his ministers are seems to be interested only into photo sessions just to get cheap publicity but nothing has been done on the ground, he said and demanded that rescue operation should be started on war footing. PDP Leader further demanded that disaster management teams should be immediately deputed to Poonch district so that rehabilitation of the affected families should be started. He also demanded that teams should be deputed to restore essential services like power and water supply in Poonch and adjoining localities. Regretting that even after passing of three days nothing concrete has been done on ground to provide relief to the affected families, PDP leaders further demanded that teams of Revenue Department should be immediately deputed to the affected areas to assess the total losses. |
