DB directs respondents to file reply
PIL seeking compensation for LoC mine blast victims
9/6/2014 12:19:19 AM
Jammu, Sept 5 : In a PIL about compensation to LoC mine blast victims, a High Court division bench of Justice Virender Singh and Justice Tashi Rabstan has issued a directive to respondents to file reply within two weeks. The court directive came today in a letter written to Chief Justice by Deepika Singh Rajawat, a practising lawyer, seeking compensation for the victims of mine blasts of Poonch LoC. The letter was treated as Public Interest Litigation (PIL). The bench, after hearing the applicant and the other side, observed that since a detailed reply/objections have already been filed by Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, as is stated in the instant application, he need not cause his appearance. Deepika Singh Rajawat stated that copy of the objections has now been provided to her and she wants to file response to it. The bench granted two weeks time for it. The bench also directed the state and union of India to file response to this PIL. (JNF)
