Dr SS Khokhar receives CBSE national award | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 7: Dr. SS Khokhar, Principal, BSF Senior Secondary School, Jammu has been conferred with the National Award by the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, in recognition of his valuable and commendable services rendered to the community for the cause of education, on September 5, 2014 on the occasion of Teacher's Day in a grand function arranged by the Ministry of Human Resource Development at VigyanBhawan, New Delhi. Prime Minister NarendraModi and Minister of Human Resource Development SmritiZubinIrani have also offered felicitation to the awardees. Dr. S.S. Khokhar is nominated by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi after rigorous scrutiny at regional level and at Central level in recognition of his constant endeavour and valuable services to CBSE as a Principal of outstanding merit for the past 34 years. The rare award is honoured to those whose devotion and dedication towards the profession of teaching is recognised by CBSE. It is for the first time in the history of BSF School that any Principal/Teacher has been bestowed with an award of such a prestige. Not only among BSF Schools, in fact, Dr. S.S. Khokhar is the first Principal to receive CBSE National Award among the CBSE Schools of the State. Dr. S.S. Khokhar started his career as a Lecturer in 1979. He joined BSF School Tekanpur in 1981 as a Senior Teacher cum PGT (Chemistry). He has been the Founder Principal of BSF School Kadamtala (WB). He has worked as Principal of BSF Schools in different states. He joined BSF School Jammu in 2009. Since then his main areas of focus have been improving infrastructure, technology aided education, safety and security system etc. The school excels in curricular and extra - curricular activities. |
