Educational institutions to remain closed Multiple orders create confusion | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 7: Administration has extended closure of educational institutions across Jammu province, but multiple orders have created confusion as two separate orders, one issued by Deputy Commissioner Jammu and the other by Secretary Department of School Education mentioned different dates of extension of the order. As per the order issued by Secretary School Education, Nirmal Sharma, the educational institutions shall remain closed till 11th of September and reopen on the 12th, while another order issued by the Deputy Commissioner Ajeet Kumar Sahu read that the educational institutions shall remain closed till the 16th of this month. The order of the Secretary was later endorsed by the press not issued by the Department of Information, according to which the educational institutions shall now reopen on the 12th of September. CEO Jammu, TarsemLal when contacted also confirmed that schools in Jammu shall remain closed till the 11th of September. Meanwhile, Jammu University has postponed all exams scheduled to be held on the 8th and 9th of September. A press note issued by JU PRO confirmed that fresh dates of exams shall be notified later. Educational institutions across the state are closed since 5th of September following unprecedented rains and flood both in Jammu and Kashmir valley. |
