JMC commissioner inspects flood affected areas of Jammu city | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 7: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner KiranWattal today conducted a tour of flood affected areas of Jammu city and to assess the problems related to flooding and sanitary conditions. According to press release, the area which was visited by commissioner includes Gujjar Nagar, PartapGarhMohalla, Peerkhoo, Dr. Goel's Lane. During the tour he inspected the damage to the houses caused by rains and flood and listened patiently to the grievances of sufferers. Instructions were issued to the Sanitation Staff and Transport wing of JMC to immediately clean the drains and mulba from the affected areas to save the life and property of nearby residents. The Commissioner also ensured to local inhabitants of worst hit areas include Gujjar Nagar, Peerkhoo, Dr. Goel's Lane for providing the additional man power areas wise, besides JCBs and other related machinery as per the requirement for removing and cleaning the silt and sand from the affected houses and adjoining areas at the earliest. Explicit directions were issued to sanitation wing for removing the blockages in drains, so as to stop flow of drainage water to the houses of residents. The public of these areas appreciated the act. Dr. Saleem Khan, Health Officer, Executive Engineers, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Chief Transport Officer, Sanitation Officers and other staff from the Corporation accompanied the Commissioner during the tour. |
