Gambhir demands adequate compensation for flood victims

Jammu, Sept 7: Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Member PCC J&K today demanded adequate compensation for flood victims.
Chairing a meeting at Bishnash on Sunday, Charak showed anguish over the worsening position of the area falling under Tehsil Bishnah and Tehsil Arnia due to devastating rains and floods during the last few days. "Proper compensation be granted to the people affected by the recent rains and floods.
Damaged roads, bridges and lanes affected by the floods be immediately restored and immediate special measures be taken to repair the Dhamala causeway which connects the whole border belt with rest of the Arnia tehsil", he said, adding that a special recruitment drive be carried out for the youths living in this most neglected and backward constituency.
He furthers said that as already promised 5 Marlas plot be immediately allotted to the people living near the border in some safer place.
Proper buildings and play grounds be provided to the Degree College Bishnah after earmarking a separate piece of land for the purpose.
