Step motherly attitude of Govt is unfortunate: Ajaz Choudhary | Youth Cong demands relief to Pir Panjal flood victims | | Early Times Report POONCH, Sept 7: Lambasting the government of showing step motherly attitude towards the region, Ajaz Choudhary, Assembly Youth Congress President, Mendhar said that every minister visited the other affected areas but no one visited Poonch and Rajouri districts where rains wreak havoc. Even the local administration did not visit the areas except the few in cities. He said that heavy loss occurred in Poonch, Surankote, Mendhar, Balakote, Mankote, Nowshera, Rajouri, Thanamandi, Drahal and Kalakote areas of the region. Cultivated agricultural land was destroyed in Balakaote and Mankote tehsils of Mendhar and houses were destroyed. People of these areas depend on this land only. The situation is almost similar in all the other areas of this region. While speaking to the people at various places in Poonch district, Ajaz Choudhary said that politicians are playing vote bank politics. He thanked the Army personnel who helped people in the rescue operation. Ajaz said that Union Home Minister and PMO visited the state but no one bothered to even land in this region. Even the prime minister of India and Chief Minister of state also visited Jammu region but they also ignored this region. Ajaz Choudhary demanded that government shall provide immediate help to those who lost their houses. |
