Govt ignoring flood victims in Jammu against Kashmir: JPPF | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 29: Asserting mismanagement in flood relief distribution in flood affected people aross the state, the Jammu Province People’s Forum (JPPF) an amalgam of more than 50 social, commercial and other organizations and united voice of Dogras of Jammu region, JPPF requested government to formulate the strategy to compensate the losses of Jammu Province at par with Kashmir. While distributing relief material to flood victims in villages Sumb, Saunjana and Nai Basti of Marh Block, M S Katcoh the working President of JPPF alleged that these areas of Marh Block are not touched by most of NGO's /Relief distribution Agencies and the people of these areas are badly in need of help. He also alleged that even the losses due to natural fury have also not been assessed so far. "JPPF requested Govt to formulate the strategy to compensate the losses of Jammu Province at par with Kashmir because it is noticed that so far no concrete assessment of Jammu Province has taken place and therefore we apprehend that the flood victims of Jammu Province will be deprived of benefits, he added. Members who accompanied for relief distribution Th Narayan Singh, M L Sharma, Prof Bhardhwaj, Amrit Magotra and Avinash Bhatia went to different villages to prepare details of losses incurred by the people of different villages which JPPF will take up with State as well as Central Govt. for getting proper relief to the public. |
