Demanding reinstatement, disengaged CL workers of BDA hold protest | | | Bhaderwah, Sept 29: Disengaged Casual Laborers of Bhaderwah Development Authority (DCLBDA) Monday staged protest demonstration in the premises of Sub District Hospital ,Bhaderwah where one of the female CL workers were shifted from BDA office when she got fainted after listening the order of disengagement. According to press release, protesting disengaged BDA workers were shouting slogans in favor of engagement and demanded intervention of CM Omar Abdullah and Minister for Tourism Gulam Ahmed Mir. They said on the hind side of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's statements of creating over 80 thousand jobs for youth, the department of tourism, Bhaderwah Development Authority has ordered disengagement of casual labourers working in the department from last so many years. Scores of Casual Labourers from BDA staged protests in the premises of BDA office Bhaderwah against the Government decision to throw them out of the department without any valid reason. The protesters said that they have been working in the department from last many years and protected the BDA property from un-necessary misuse, waste and theft and blamed the Chief Executive Officer BDA for his role to disengage them from the department."We are serving in the department from last many years, but without any reason the CEO BDA disengage us," Rajesh Kotwal said. They said after years of service, the heads of departments were denying them work at their respective place of postings. "I was asked not to come to the office and look for some other avenues of livelihood. The protesters threatened to intensify their protests if the BDA did not change the decision of disengaging them. "We will stage protests everywhere in Bhaderwah if the Commissioner secretary will disengage us from the department," the protesters said. They said on the one side state government said it will regularized all CL /daily wagers /need basis workers but on the other side are disengaging the BDA workers without any reason . |
