Jammu, Oct 16: Children of Asha School celebrated their annual function-cum-Diwali festival today at Jammu Cantt. Usha Singh, Chairperson Family Welfare Organisation Tiger Division was the Chief Guest. She lit the 'Deepmala' to inaugurate the function. Children hailing from various religions, and regions of India, celebrated Diwali today as their School closes for Diwali breaks, A cultural programme of Diwali dance and Songs was presented by children in which the Chairperson also joined them. Principal Suman Mathur, explained about the life and teachings of Lord Ram and importance of celebrating Diwali festival to spread happiness and amity. Speaking on the occasion, Usha Singh said that Tiger Division renders priority to all welfare projects towards making Special Children as self reliant. An exhibition of Diwali items, prepared as part of vocational training by students and staff of school, was also held. The eminent guests, who attended the function, appreciated the artistic works of students. |
