Rally on 'save environment' held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 16: Students of Government Middle (Boys) School, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu organized a rally- cum- seminar with an objective to create awareness among people to save surrounding environment. Students also planted sapling of various trees in school premises during the proceedings of programme here on Thursday. Carrying banners and placards depicting slogans like 'no to pollution, do not cut trees, grow more trees, go green and live and let live etc, the students took out a rally from school which passed through main markets of the Kot Bhalwal and the rally culminated at Panchayat Ghar Kote. After the rally culminated at Panchayat Ghar Kote, the headmistress of the school Neelam addressed students and highlighted the importance of planting more and more tress. She also thanked the elderly and respectable citizens of area who participated in the programme. Earlier, teacher Manisha Mahajan spoke on 'Swach Bharat Abhiyan' a nationwide campaign to realize the Mahatma Gandhi's dream of Clean India. Besides faculty members of school, students and their parents, the eminent citizens of the area also participated in this awareness programme.
