Ex Minister Manjit hails Cong leadership for approving of 'package for refugees'

Vijaypur, Oct 16: Accrediting the sincerity of Congress leadership towards resolving issues of Refugees, former minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh today hailed Congress party leadership for approval of package for refugees. He however alleged that due to dilly dallying policy of National Conference (NC) the package for refugees could not be passed earlier. Accrediting Congress for this, Singh said that package was passed in the State cabinet only because of the efforts of Congress and said that Congress all posaible efforts under the leadership of AICC General Secretary Ambika Soni, JKPCC chief Prof Saif Ud Din Soz , Ex Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Madan Lal Shrama former Member Parliament and Cabinet Ministers of the party. "The package for refugees would have been passed earlier, due to dilly dallying policy of National Conference the package could not be passed," he added. He alleged, "The NC did not want the package to be passed but finally they agreed following pressure from Congress party Claiming credits for getting approval of this package, Manjit Singh maintained that Congress struggled for continuous three years to get issue redressed. "The delegations led by JKPCC Chief Prof Soz and Ex. Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had called on then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, then Home Minister with regard to the package," he reminded and added even Madan Lal Shrama former Member Parliament remained active in resolving the long pending issue of refugees.
"The people should understand and support Congress in assembly election Jammu and Kashmir, he said and appealed people to strengthen the hands of Congress party in coming assembly polls.
