Mere doling out assurances will not mitigate sufferings of Flood affected: Reen | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 16: Lambasting the state coalition regime for failing to reach out to the flood victims in Jammu region, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Gandhi Nagar assembly segment, Amrik Singh Reen today said that merely making promises and giving assurances will not mitigate the sufferings of the people and hence Omar led coalition should deal the concerned departments with a strong commitment. While distributing relief among flood affected today during a camp organized at Bashir Gujjar Basti, Beli Charana, Jammu, PDP leader Reen said that it is indeed very unfortunate that the flood affected families have not been given the due care and attention by the state government. "The government has failed to provide compensation or relief after weeks of the occurrence of calamity, he said. PDP leader Reen alleged that flood affected have been repeatedly approaching the local administration for help but it seems that only a few people who have political links with NC and Congress leaders are getting benefits while the genuinely affected families are ignored. He said that in this hour of sorrow and grief the government agencies should also adopted a human approach and shall discharge their duties honestly. He said that mere promising and assuring will not mitigate the sufferings of the affected instead Omar led regime needs to direct the concerned departments to handle the crisis with strong commitment. |
