Dogri Sanstha organizes 'Geet-Sandhya'

Jammu, Oct 27 : A scintillating musical programme "Geet Sandhya" based on the lyrics of Dogri poets belonging to three generations was today organized by Dogri Sanstha at K L Saigal Hall. Prithvi RajSharma ,a renowned music composer had provided music to the lyrics. In all, seven songs penned down by Parmanand Almast, Yash Sharma, Padamdev Singh Nirdosh, Gianeshwar, Lalit Sharma Rattan Bhardwaj and Gopal Sharma Ferozpuri were presented to audience in mellifluous voices of Kanta Sharma, Sham Manyal, Apoorva Jamwal, Shubhdev Magotra and Subodh Kumar. Sanjay Pashi and Karan Malhotra provided the accompaniment on Guitar and tabla in a masterly manner whereas Sunil Sharma accompanied on flute. Chhatrapal , president Dogri Sanstha, said that Dogri Sanstha take pride in showcasing the most outstanding young singers of the State who have made their name in the music world with their sheer talent and flare . Jammu is known for its two unique traditions ; miniature paintings and melodious Pahari music. Dogri Sanstha has chosen to carry on the musical tradition in present context by organizing such musical programmes for general masses, he said.
Dr. Nirmal Vinod professionally conducted and presented the programme which was enjoyed by a large number of audience. Renowned music composer Prithvi Raj Sharma was appreciated by one and all for his melodic compositions. Among those were present on this occasion included Dr. Lalit Magotra, Sham Sajan, Gianeshwar, Prof. N.D. Sharma.
, Dr Dushyant, Inderjeet Kesar, KK Shakir, Ravi Shanker ,Madan Padha and Narendra Bhasin .
