Documents in possession of Early Times revealed that Section Officer, Legal, Rajesh Sharma was appointed at SMVDU on contract basis through an open advertisement excluding mandatory qualification as prescribed under the university statutes for the post falling in Lower Middle Level Management (Category III) and carrying a pay scale of Rs 5500-9000 to Rs 6500-10500 to bring Rajesh Kumar into zone of consideration. The university statutes prescribe a Master's degree with a minimum 2nd class or equivalent in grade point average for all the posts falling under the ambit of Lower Middle Management (Category-III), the documents read, adding that but the present incumbent managed to get the job allegedly using fraudulent means. It is strange to note that his educational qualification certificates and service book record in previous department reflect his name as Rajesh Kumar, whereas in SMVD University his is using the surname 'Sharma' with his name. "If this happens to be the case, one can easily imagine the state of legal affairs in the university", said an officer of SMVDU whishing not to be named. He alleged that the possibility of involvement of some SMVDU higher ups in this particular case was also not ruled out. |
