Factionalism intensified in Kathua Congress | | | Sanjay Pathak Kathua, Oct 27: Factionalism in the groups-ridden Congress again came to the fore when a function was organised to felicitate newly appointed working president of District Congress Committee (DCC), Kathua. Loyalists of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz have organised a function to felicitate newly appointed DCC Kathua working president Pankaj Dogra but the incumbent district president Subash Gupta, who is loyalist of leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad was not invited in the function. "It is very unfortunate that instead of presenting a united face ahead of the Assembly elections some leaders are still encouraging factionalism", said annoyed Subash Gupta, adding, "during Lok Sabha he as a district president has tried to bring all leaders together". During recent reshuffle in the party, Congress leadership has appointed Pankaj Dogra as DCC working president and continued Subash Gupta as district president to strike a balance between two groups. But the function organised to felicitate Pankaj Sharma is seemed to be have spoiled all efforts to bring unity among all warring factions in the district. Congress party in Kathua district is facing one of the biggest challenges because party has suffered very badly in the Lok Sabha elections. It was all due to Kathua district that a political stalwart like Ghulam Nabi Azad had lost Parliamentary elections. Instead of learning any lesson from past mistakes, Congress leaders are still indulged into factionalism. The Congress leaders are indulged into groupism is a clear indication that party would face difficult situation in the coming Assembly elections. |
