Jammu, Oct 27 :On his elevation, the J&K high court seniormost judge Virender Singh will take oath as 10th Chief Justice (CJ) of Jharkhand High Court on November 1. The High Court Bar Association, Jammu, today accorded him a farewell. Justice Singh, keeping in view the catastrophe caused by floods in J&K had shown his unwillingness to take any farewell party and instead chose to visit Bar Room, High Court, for a cup of tea during the lunch break. The bar president, appreciating his humane approach in dispensation of justice, described him as a person of integrity and justice loving. While recalling his time spent in the state high court, Justice Singh appreciated the role of advocates and judges in maintaining a cordial relationship of bench and Bar and its role in justice dispensation to the most deserving and poor people of the far flung and remote areas. A bunch of flowers was also presented to him as a mark of love and respect by the bar office bearers. (JNF) |
