Jammu, Oct 27 : Judicial magistrate, Hiranagar, Preet Simran Kour has convicted an accused in an eve-teasing case.
According to the police case, a woman filed a written complainant with Hiranagar police on July 26, 2011, alleging therein that she was running a shop new National Highway and accused Rakesh Kumar alias Babbi of Sunder Nagar, Pathankot, used to harass her on phone and talk indecently. She also alleged that he gestured indecently towards her and also spoke obscene language.
The accused was then booked by police under section 294 of RPC. After investigation was completed, the case was challaned in the court.
After hearing the two sides, the judicial magistrate awarded one month imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1,000 to the accused.(JNF) |
