ADDC holds meeting with various political parties ahead of polls

Kishtwar, Oct 27: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kishtwar Avtar Singh Chib today held a meeting with representatives of various political parties at DC office complex Kishtwar wherein administration seeks cooperation from all the political parties for conducting smooth, free and fair election in the District. ADDC Kishwtar along with Returning Officers for 51-Kishtwar (ADC Kishtwar Mohammad Hanief Malik) and 52-Inderwal (ACR Kishtwar Sudarshan Kumar Salaria) Assembly Constituency of Kishtwar District today held a meeting wherein administration sought due cooperation from all the political parties for conducting smooth elections.
While addressing the meeting, a detail discussion was held with the participants, beside all the participants were briefed by the concern officials with regard to imposition of Model Code of Conduct (MCC), procedure for filling of nomination papers, election rallies, paid news, security related issues and other activities allowed to all the national and state level parties.
According to the schedule, the notification for filling the nominations of election would be issued on October 28, last date of filling of nomination is November 05, scrutiny of nominations will take place on November 07, the last date of withdrawal of candidature is November 10, and the day of Polling in both the constituencies will be held on November 25, 2014.
The representatives of the political parties raise various objections particularly with regard to compulsory of having PAN card for candidates, fixing of higher transportation rates by the Transport Commissioner, rates of Tables, Chairs, Sofas, sound system and other miscellaneous items. They urged upon the Chief Election Commissioner of India to reconsider the decision of making PAN card compulsory and also urged him to reconsider the rates of use of commercial private vehicles which is higher than the actual rates. Replying to complaints regarding violation of MCC in the District, ADDC Kishtwar and other senior officials assured all the political parties that no violation of MCC will be allowed. Meanwhile Tehsildar Kishtwar Fulail Singh, who is also Assistant Returning Officer for 51-Kishtwar constituency today removed hoarding of various political leaders installed at key locations in Kishtwar town and its peripheries and directed parties to remove all the hoardings violating MCC guide lines.
