Jammu, Oct 27: Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, under Uniform Force, organized a month long tehsil level tournament, cricket for boys and Kho-Kho for girls hailing from tehsils Mahore, Reasi, Gul, Samote and Kalakote.
According to press release, the tournament was organized to encourage the sports and identify talented boys and girls, from far- flung areas of Reasi district.
The tournament, which was commenced on Sept 27, 2014and continued for a month, came to a stellar end on Oct 26, 2014. The final match of Cricket was played between the teams of Reasi and Mahore which was won by Reasi Cricket Team. The final match of Kho-Kho was played between the teams Reasi and Kalakote which was also won by Reasi Kho-Kho Team. The winners of this tournament will represent as Rashtriya Rifles Reasi Cricket and Kho-Kho teams in the inter district tournament.
The locals were excited and are now eagerly waiting for next tournament, scheduled to be conducted at Reasi in the near future. |
