Court frames corruption charges against CE, AEE, others | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 13: Special judge, anti-corruption, Sanjay Dhar today framed corruption charges against a Chief Engineer (CE), an Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) and two others, including a foreigner. The charges were framed under section 5(1) (a) read with section 5(2) of PC Act and section 161 and 165-A read with section 120-B against Zahoor Hussain Zargar, CE, mechanical engineering department, Jammu, his subordinate and AEE Ranjan Kumar Langar, Hanho Yoon alias Calvin Yoon of South Korea, MD of M/s CAS India Pvt Ltd, Gurgaon, Anil Dhar of Uttam Nagar, Delhi. Dhar is DGM of M/s CAS India Pvt Ltd. According to the VOJ case, the chief engineer had demanded a huge bribe from Calvin and Dhar in lieu of extending undue favour to their firm for supply of Weigh Pads through manipulation of tendering process. The VOJ had registered a case against them under the relevant sections of law. Zahoor accepted the bribe amount of Rs 1,80,000 through Langar in their office premises from Calvin and Dhar. This amount was also recovered and seized by the VOJ team. |
