DIG Attri reviews law and order situation on 'counting day' | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Dec 22: With an aim to ensure smooth conduct of counting and victory rallies in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police, Ashok Kumar Atri today chaired meetings with leaders of political parties and contesting candidates. A spokesperson said, "The DIG Atrri held a meeting in his office at Rajouri District Headquarter." "While interaction with political leaders and candidates, DIG Ashok Kumar Attri apprised the political leaders that only authorized agents will be allowed to enter counting halls only after proper passes by concerned authorities and contesting candidates should not take along with them more workers," spokesperson said. Beside this DIG Ashok Kumar Atri also directed that winning candidates / parties should take proper permission before taking out any victory rally and the same will not be allowed to pass through any sensitive area. He also directed that candidates and parties should not call large number of supporters at district headquarters so as to prevent chaos and unruly gathering. DIG Ashok Kumar Atri said that fool proof security arrangements have been put in place to ensure smooth conduct of polls. |
