People hold protest against closure of school
CEO orders suspension of Kuchalana HS staff for remaining absent

Kishtwar, June 24: After public outrage, Chief Education Officer Kishtwar today ordered immediate suspension of all the staff members posted at High School (HS) Kuchalana falling under Nagsini zone of Kishtwar District after school was found locked during day time by the general public. As per the details available with "Early Times", the parents of the student studying at High School Kuchalana along with villagers and people hailing from Dool and its adjoining areas today held a strong protest against the staff and teachers for remaining absent from their duties that virtually left the school closed. The people informed the "Early Times", that after noticing that their children's studying in the said High School are returning back to home without attending the school sought details from their children's who informed them that the school was closed as no staff member or teacher has arrived at school to teach them as a result of which all the students studying in the school return back to home. After hearing about closure of school, large number of people assembled outside school and held strong protest against the officials posted in the school and demanded intervention of Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kishtwar and Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar. After holding protest for nearly one hour, the matter was brought into the notice of CEO Kishtwar and Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar who ordered Chief Education Officer Kishtwar Vinod Kumar Soni to verify the fact and take immediate action against the absentee employees. After verifying the public complaint, the complaint was found genuine as a result of which CEO Kishtwar ordered immediate suspension of all the staff members posted in the school. As per the order passed by CEO Kishtwar vide No. CEO/K/2015/6825-28 dated 24-06-2015, six employees namely Nigad Ara (Master), Ashok Kumar (Teacher), Ashok Kumar (RRT), Baby Rehana (3rd ReT), Masooma Begum (RRT) and Nazir Ahmed (Master) were placed under suspension with immediate effect and are attached in the same school till pending enquiry. CEO Kishtwar order stated that all the teaching staff of the school was found absent without any leave and the school was found locked. ZEO Nagsini was also asked to furnish the detailed report within two days so that further proceeding could be held in the matter. It is pertinent to mention that DC Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan only yesterday ordered immediate suspension of several employees found absent during surprise visit of Tehsildar Nagsini at health and family welfare centre Padyarna and ICDS centre Nagsini and also sought explanation from Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Nagsini for remaining absent from duty, beside issued direction to District Treasury Officer Kishtwar to stop the salaries of all the absentee employees till the outcome of the inquiry to be conducted by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kishtwar.
