Sources told Early Times that Prof. Reshi resigned from his position following differences with Vice-Chancellor, University of Kashmir Professor Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi. Both Prof. Reshi and Prof. Andrabi had developed differences over many issues in the recent as a result of which the former had to demit his office.
“The former Registrar had expressed his reservations and apprehensions over some of the university matters. He and the Vice-Chancellor were pursuing an opposite course of action over some university matters. These differences snowballed into a major controversy and thus resulted in the resignation of Prof. Reshi,” said sources.
While some people said that Prof. Reshi’s behavior with his subordinates was not good same became the same a reason for his ouster. On the other hands there are reports that former Registrar did not accede to the in-genuine demands of some of the higher ups in the varsity and as such was ‘coerced’ to resign from his position.
It would be in place to mention here that Prof. Reshi’s tenure as Registrar of University of Kashmir was supposed to end in September this year. However, his resignation meant that he demitted his chair more than two months before the scheduled end of his tenure.
